Winter Grazing: Part 1 - Soil Health

Welcome to our mini video series on winter grazing, brought to you by the Food Water Wellness Foundation (FWWF) and RALL partner Lakeland Agricultural Research Association (LARA)! First up is a beautiful animation narrated by RALL Lead Scientist Dr. Kris Nichols.

“Being able to maintain [biodiversity] means that you can maintain function even if you have very dry soils for a period of time, or very salty soils, or wet or high clay content,” Kris explains. “You’ll always have an organism that is able to thrive in that environment.”

Stay tuned for upcoming parts in this series and learn about the best grazing systems for deep snow.
